RoQTeam: Entangling minds. Empowering Romania.

A Romanian community for quantum science, open to researchers, students and the simply curious. We run hackathons, conferences, workshops and lessons, BreaQ included.

0 detections

Each dot is one particle hitting the detector. Point at the pattern to measure which slit the particles went through, and the stripes vanish.

We accelerate practical quantum education and collaboration in Romania.

The RoQTeam team, in the community's T-shirts — The people behind RoQTeam

We are a community of young researchers and quantum technology enthusiasts. We connect students, researchers and industry around the emerging quantum ecosystem.

Meet the people

What we do

Four formats, one goal: get more people in Romania doing quantum, not just reading about it.

Hackathons
24-hour team challenges on real quantum problems, with mentors on the floor and prizes at the end.
BreaQ Hackathon
Conferences
Researchers and industry experts on quantum computing, communication and sensing, in talks open to everyone.
BreaQ Conference
Workshops and labs
Hands-on sessions with quantum software and real lab equipment, from online Classiq workshops to the quantum optics lab at CAMPUS.

How we got here

RoQTeam started with three students at the Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” who wanted to bring Romania’s scattered quantum community together.

Their first event was Romania’s edition of Qiskit Fall Fest. Hackathons and conferences followed, and the team keeps growing. Every event we have run is on this circuit, with a link to its own page.

14 October – 24 November 2024
Qiskit Fall Fest Bucharest 2024
Fall Fest, Military Technical Academy
Romania’s first Qiskit Fall Fest, themed World of Quantum: online lectures and coding challenges, a quantum optics lab session and an in-person hackathon.
